HOME BUYING 101: CHOOSE YOUR BUYER'S AGENT WISELY

Choosing the perfect agent to find the perfect home.

When it comes to purchasing a home, you want to have complete trust and confidence in the agent that will be helping you purchase one of, if not the BIGGEST purchase in your lifetime. Purchasing a Home for some can be extremely overwhelming, but with the right agent, things should be a breeze. Here are some of the things to look for when trying to find the perfect agent to help you through the process.

R E S P E C T - Does your agent have a well-known presence in the community with other real estate agents and business professionals? Read reviews on the agent you will be choosing. Make sure past clients have been pleased with the way they perform their business. Look into the agent's social media, and see what kind of presence they have.

I N V O L V E M E N T - Is your agent going to be able to be as involved in the transaction as you would like them to be? Sometimes when working with some of the Top Producers in your area, you may actually not be working directly with them and will be working with a Buyer's Agent or one of their assistants. Make sure if you aren't working directly with the agent, that you like the buyer's agent they have. Find out how much time you will be getting at the beginning. Will you guys do updates on a daily or weekly basis? Who will be the main point of contact?

L I K A B I L I T Y - Do you genuinely like the agent you are thinking of working with? There are thousands of Real Estate Agents in every area. So don't think you're being picky if your personalities are just a little too different. Choose someone who you really feel comfortable with. You will be sharing a lot of personal information with your agent, so you need to feel like you guys can share everything (well most everything).

H O N E S T Y - Is the Agent you are thinking of working with in it for the sake of what's best for YOU or do they just see the paycheck at the end? If the Agent isn't in it to do what is best for you and your family, they might not be completely honest, and only doing what needs to be done to get the deal closed. Make sure they are on the same team as you!
